PIERRE-AUGUSTE COT - SPRINGTIME, 1873
This painting showcases all the elements of spring that are valued. From love to the abundance of nature’s fruits to the coziness. In it the young girl looks deeply into her lover's eyes while wrapping her arms around his neck, as the young man gazes tenderly back at her and raises his leg as if to push the swing forward.
The prudish Victorian era began in the late 1800s. The painting illustrates a feeling of sensuality conveyed through the flow of the girl's transparent garment, a hallmark of the Greco-Roman era. Highlighting her purity and allure, displaying her figure. This beautiful gesture was a rebellion against contemporary society at the time. The man is clothed in orange, a dynamic color with a positive tone. While being attention-seeking, it is not aggressive. It is also the color of transformation (and the change of seasons).
The young lady symbolizes the season of spring. Seeing how she is so scantily clad and the robes billow around her, the wind appears to not interact with the young man. Also, the portrayal of the young girl resembles that of a goddess, suggesting she is of a mythical origin, thereby justifying her revealing attire. She represents the beauty and warmth typically linked with spring during that period.
When examining closely, I encourage you to ponder this: Springtime is the ultimate and ideal representation of what Ven. Fulton Sheen describes as ‘Divine Love is Creative’.
“They contemplate each other; love each other; unite in a love so powerful, so strong, and so perfect that it forms between them a living bond. They give themselves in a love so infinite that like the truth which expresses itself only in the giving of a whole personality, their love can express itself in nothing less than a Person, who is Love. Love at such a stage does not speak; does not cry; does not express itself by words, nor by canticles; it expresses itself as we do in some ineffable moments, by that which indicates the very exhaustion of our giving: namely, a sigh, or a breath – that is why the Third Person of the Blessed Trinity is called the Holy Spirit. – (The Divine Romance (1930) by Ven. Fulton Sheen.)

the lovers: a card of many contradictions, kinda like jim and his monster loving girlfriend. it represents love, relationships, harmony, choices, and aligned values. Yet it also shows disharmony, imbalances, self-love, and misalignment of values. so this card means many different things.
very inspired by spring time by pierre auguste cot

SCREAMING CRYING YELLING THIS MAN WTFFFFF I LOVE HIM.
anddd congratulations on 1.3k babe. i love you so much and i love talking to you abt random shit and the amazing tiktoks you send me lmao. i wouldn't be here, or as inclined to be here, if i hadn't made such an amazing friend on tumblr when i first started. you are literally my light at the end of the tunnel and there will always be a special place for you in my tumblr heart, rosie.
anyways, i'd like 📚, 🎨 for enchanted and our song, 🎸 with lover and boyband reid (obviously lmao 🤤), and 😻.
i love you again and my god i'm so happy for you. i can't wait to see you reach another milestone <33333
SO MANY GOD DAMN SMOOCHES FOR YOU
wait one more tiktok because this one is just so cute 😭
hey my favorite little dude on this app :) i love you too very much 💗💙
📚okay this was just so fucking funny because i’m still trying to make it through you (book). you have to click on them to see, sorry. But basically, Joe is shitting on Taylor Swift. And this isn't the first time that he's done this. There's so many Taylor Swift reference in this book. The author loves Taylor so she made the bad guy a typical "Taylor is a serial dater" kind of dude. And well, Joe, I've got to say a serial dater is better than a serial killer bubby. It's also funny because he talks about her Rhode Island home, Holiday House. And to bring this connection full circle, Matthew was there for Taylor's 4th of July Party. And the fake name that Joe use when he's being all creepy and stalky is Spencer.

🎨 Let's switch it up and do a painting! This painting, Le Printemps (Springtime), Pierre-Auguste Cot, has this whimsical and hopeful quality that Enchanted exudes. I love the sly expression the person in white is giving and how their gaze is playfully directed at their lover.
🎨 Our Song has always reminded me of a Spring Day so I choose this painting by Monet

😻You never fail to make me smile and you have this incredibly endearing and charming quality! Some songs that capture that are:
Mine
It's Nice To Have A Friend
Gold Rush
Seven
Jump Than Fall
🎸here you go!! I hope you like it!!

It was a Lover and his Lass
Poem by William Shakespeare

Springtime (1873) By Artist Pierre-Auguste Cot
It was a lover and his lass, With a hey, and a ho, and a hey nonino, That o'er the green corn-field did pass, In the spring time, the only pretty ring time, When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding ; Sweet lovers love the spring.
Between the acres of the rye, With a hey, and a ho, and a hey nonino, These pretty country folks would lie, In the spring time, the only pretty ring time, When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding ; Sweet lovers love the spring.
This carol they began that hour, With a hey, and a ho, and a hey nonino, How that life was but a flower In the spring time, the only pretty ring time, When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding ; Sweet lovers love the spring.
And, therefore, take the present time With a hey, and a ho, and a hey nonino, For love is crown`d with the prime In the spring time, the only pretty ring time, When birds do sing, hey ding a ding, ding ; Sweet lovers love the spring.

Great Lovers of Westeros, part II
Ormund Baratheon and Rhaelle Targaryen In 245 AC Princess Rhaelle fulfilled her father’s promise and wed Ormund Baratheon, young Lord of Storm’s End. The following year she gave him a son, Steffon, who served as a page and a squire at King’s Landing and became a close companion of Prince Aerys, eldest son of King Jaehaerys II and heir to the Iron Throne.
Alysanne Blackwood and Cregan Stark Lord Corlys was spared a trial by the machinations of Baela and Rhaena Targaryen, who convinced Aegon to issue an edict restoring to him his offices and honors, then by Black Aly Blackwood when she gave Lord Stark her hand in marriage in return for the boon of allowing Aegon’s edict to stand.
Denys Darklyn and Serala of Myr “In Duskendale they love Lord Denys still, despite the woe he brought them. ’Tis Lady Serala that they blame, his Myrish wife. The Lace Serpent, she is called. If Lord Darklyn had only wed a Staunton or a Stokeworth … well, you know how smallfolk will go on. The Lace Serpent filled her husband’s ear with Myrish poison, they say, until Lord Denys rose against his king and took him captive.”
Joffrey Lonmouth and Laenor Velaryon He shattered Breakbone’s collarbone and elbow, leading Mushroom to dub him Brokenbones, but the worst injuries he meted out were to Laenor’s favorite, the handsome knight Ser Joffrey Lonmouth, who was called the Knight of Kisses. Ser Joffrey was borne from the field senseless and bloody, and lingered for six days before dying, leaving Laenor to weep bitter tears of grief.
Mors Martell and Nymeria But Mors Martell, the Lord of the Sandship, saw in the newcomers an opportunity … and if the singers can be believed, his lordship also lost his heart to Nymeria, the fierce and beautiful warrior queen who had led her people across the world to keep them free.
Brynden Rivers and Shiera Seastar Bloodraven proved to be a capable Hand, but also a master of whisperers who rivaled Lady Misery, and there were those who thought he and his half sister and paramour, Shiera Seastar, used sorcery to ferret out secrets.
Barbrey Ryswell and Brandon Stark “Brandon was fostered at Barrowton with old Lord Dustin, the father of the one I’d later wed, but he spent most of his time riding the Rills. And my lord father was always pleased to play host to the heir to Winterfell. My father had great ambitions for House Ryswell. He would have served up my maidenhead to any Stark who happened by, but there was no need. Brandon was never shy about taking what he wanted. I am old now, a dried-up thing, too long a widow, but I still remember the look of my maiden’s blood on his cock the night he claimed me. I think Brandon liked the sight as well. A bloody sword is a beautiful thing, yes. It hurt, but it was a sweet pain.”
Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen “The Others take your honor!” Robert swore. “What did any Targaryen ever know of honor? Go down into your crypt and ask Lyanna about the dragon’s honor!” “You avenged Lyanna at the Trident,” Ned said, halting beside the king.
Alysanne and Jaehaerys I Targaryen For forty-six years, the Old King and Good Queen Alysanne were wed, and for the most part it was a happy marriage, with children and grandchildren aplenty. Two estrangements are recorded, but they did not last more than a year or two before the pair resumed their customary friendship. The Second Quarrel, however, is of note, as it was due to Jaehaerys’s decision in 92 AC to pass over his granddaughter Rhaenys— the daughter of his deceased eldest son and heir, Prince Aemon— in favor of bestowing Dragonstone and the place of heir apparent on his next eldest son, Baelon the Brave. Alysanne saw no reason why a man should be favored over a woman … and if Jaehaerys thought women of less use, then he would have no need of her. They reconciled in time, but the Old King outlived his beloved queen, and in his last years it was said that the grief of their parting hung over his court like a pall.
Jaehaerys II and Shaera Targaryen Though King Aegon had acquired a distaste for the Valyrian custom of incestuous marriage during his years amongst the smallfolk, Prince Jaehaerys was of a more traditional bent, for from a very early age he had loved his sister Shaera and dreamed of wedding her in the old Targaryen fashion. Once aware of his desires, King Aegon and Queen Betha had done their best to separate the two, yet somehow distance only seemed to inflame the mutual passion of this prince and princess.
